ROLLING BLACKOUTS COASTAL FEVER FALLING THUNDER

Few things warm our hearts more than energetic and dreamy indie-pop; there’s just something about those surfy guitars, foot-tapping rhythms and sing-a-long lyrics that lifts us up with perfect ease. Bringing us some well-timed cheer today is Melbourne quintet Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - aka RBCF, if you’re rushed for time. Their newest single ‘Falling Thunder’ is dedicated to their friends in Italy, who have been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus pandemic. This catchy ditty is accompanied by a video of phone camera footage, filmed in the Aeolian Islands, the ancestral home of the band’s Russo brothers. Overall, ‘Falling Thunder’ is a message of hope; things change, time passes, and so this global crisis will too come to an end. As the months tick on, we also come closer to the arrival of RBCF’s second album, Sideways To New Italy, on June 5th via Sub Pop. - Hannah Thacker   [Photo credit: Peter Ryle]
